Soma vs. Massage

The main way in which Soma differs from massage is that by working with connective tissue, the practitioner is able to create long-lasting change. In some cases, a person who has experienced Soma will continue to change and improve long after the sessions have been completed.

Soma also invites the client to participate more with their healing through movement, integration exercises and client note book. Soma also includes a holographic body reading that allows the practitioner to view the client’s individual needs, and to address the way in which the body is affected by gravity.

For clients wishing to continue to receive body work after completion of the soma sessions or between them, Somassage® is also available. Somassage is a standalone, specialized deep tissue massage developed to support the changes achieved in the ten session process. Somassage can address the body generally or specifically, depending on your needs, and can be used as an introduction to the Soma work. Somassage is always available to anyone who would like a wonderfully energizing full body massage.
